About Appleyard Owner Brendan Staunton
Brendan Staunton emigrated to Australia 20 years ago from Ireland to pursue new opportunities. As luck would have it, he met a girl whose father owned an auto repair shop that bore the family name: Appleyard. When offered an apprenticeship, he said he’d try it for a month.
Turned out, Brendan had found his calling. He worked for Appleyard for four years— a few as an apprentice and a few more as a licensed technician. When it was time for Appleyard to retire, Brendan took over the business, keeping original owner Appleyard’s name so the locals would feel at home in his shop.
Brendan’s son Joseph is currently walking in his father’s footsteps, training as an Appleyard apprentice.
